$25.00 an hour for all writing work. For documents over 10 pages, $35.00 an hour.
$10.00 additional will be charged if a 24 hour return time is requested.
Freelance Writing/ Editing Work
My rates are as follows: $20.00 for a 100-300 word post/ article, $30.00 for a 300-500 word post/ article, $40.00 for a 500-800 word post/ article, $50.00 for a 800 – 900 word post/ article, $75.00 for a 900 – 1,000 word post/ article, $100.00+ for 1,000 word post/ article. Hourly rates would be $30.00 – $40.00. These rates are negotiable and dependent upon the work/ content and research needed for each assignment.
Format/ Submission of Writing Work
Format Guidelines
Work should be submitted as a MS Word (either Mac or PC version) with a .doc/.docx file type. The font should be either Times New Roman or Arial 12 point. These are standard fonts within all versions of MS Word. Essays, articles, research papers should be double-spaced.
Submission Guidelines
All writing work should be sent as e-mail attachment. Please do not just paste into the body of an email and follow stated guidelines listed above. Work will be returned if these requests are not met.
Explanation of Editorial Terms
Review/ Proofread
A basic read through of material for sentence structure, flow, organization, paragraph development, presence of topic sentences and supporting ideas/ research information.
If the document is a resume, research paper, or other specialized document, comments will be specific to audience, tone, and subject matter. Editing and grammar comments will be noted/ highlighted but not corrected.
Editing/ Critique
This involves a read through of material for sentence structure, flow, organization, and grammar. Revisions will be suggested, errors corrected, and notes made for overall improvement. A suggestion to correct/ revise problem areas may be made, then the choice offered to resubmit after a rework. This is, of course, totally up to you but it is recommended.
Grammar Review (Extensive)
All areas of grammar within the submitted document will be reviewed and/ or corrected with written explanation. This review will also include sentence structure.
